The CNCERT 2006 Conference and the APCERT 2006 Conference will be jointly held at Beijing Friendship Hotel from 28th to 31st March, 2006. The theme of the conference is "Network Security-Common Responsibility". The mission is to strengthen the cooperation between different industries and sectors in China, between China and the Asia-Pacific Region, among economies in the Asia-Pacific Region in the field of network security and to raise the capacity of addressing large-scale and cross-border security incidents on the basis of existent coordination and operation mechanism.
The CNCERT conference is organized by the National Computer network Emergency Response technical Team Coordination Center of China (CNCERT/CC), which is the professional organization to deal with technical response and coordination matters related to computer network security incidents. The annual conference on Computer Network Security and Emergency Response not only offers a rare opportunity for participants to follow expert opinions as well as the latest developments, technologies and best practices, but is also a important platform for them to build extensive interactions, coordination, mutual trust and cooperation.
CNCERT Annual Conference is widely participated by professional practitioners in the field of network security emergencies; administrators and technical experts from government agencies, technological research institutes, telecommunication carriers, ISPs, information related industries, software and hardware developers, security solution providers; as well as the public media. The following are common components of the CNCERT Annual Conference:
- cutting-edge techniques in the field of security incident prevention, detection and response;
- latest developments of computer and network security tools;
- shared views, experiences and resolutions in computer security incident response field
This conference to be held in Beijing comes as the third annual conference of CNCERT, following the 2004 Conference in Sanya, Hainan and the 2005 Conference in Guilin, Guangxi.
As the APCERT has entrusted CNCERT/CC to host its annual conference this year, and the APCERT 2006 conference will be held in conjunction with the CNCERT 2006 annual conference, it is believed that two annual conferences going on at the same time would definitely bring more network security experts and practitioners from around the Asia-Pacific and world to make it a rewarding experience for participants to follow international development trends and interact with international counterparts.
As usual, attendance at two conferences was always high. In 2005, for APCERT conference in Kyoto, Japan, we had participants from 13 APCERT teams across 11 economies in the Asia Pacific region, and nearly 100 participants in the APCERT open session. For CNCERT conference in Guilin, P.R.China, we had more than 300 participants from all over the world. We expect a larger number and more achievements in 2006 while we will combine two conferences cooperating together and locate it in Beijing which is the 2008 Olympic city.
As the host organization for both two conferences, we are pleased to invite you to attend conferences in Beijing. Moreover, we would like to assure you a high quality conference, a fruitful experience, and a joyful journey as well.
For the conferences, there will be keynote speeches, presentations, tutorials and panel discussions related to both technological and administrative issues. Each presentation including the Q& A session is generally within 30-45 minutes. Conference languages are Chinese and English and simultaneous interpretation service will be provided at some sessions.
